The Final Fantasy
Based on the “Prelude Song” from the Final Fantasy series
Lyrics by Craig Olsen

I

If I looked beyond,
The waves into the sea,
I know that I’ll find you out there,
And you can see me.

And if I look beyond,
The clouds into the sky,
I know that I’ll find you up there,
Flying by.

It’s the final fantasy,
If you were still here with me,
Maybe, maybe,
Our hearts would be one for all eternity,
Maybe…

II

So if I look beyond,
The sun, into the light,
I know that your sweet face,
Will soon be in my sight.

And if I look beyond,
The stars, and into space,
I’m sure that I can leave this world,
And not leave a trace

‘Cause it’s the final fantasy,
If you were still here with me,
Maybe, maybe,
My heart would be strong, for all eternity,
Maybe…

III

Ever since you left,
And became one with the earth,
I’ve been waiting back here,
For signs of your rebirth.

And if you never come back,
I don’t think my heart can go on,
But I can hear your voice,
Telling me to be strong.

For it’s the final fantasy,
If you were still here with me,
Maybe, maybe,
One day, just you wait and see,
When my soul is finally set free,
Our hearts will be one for all eternity,
Maybe…
Maybe…
Today, I found out that my brother just got back from a funeral for one of his former-teammate's dad. I had been working on this poem for a while, so I decided that it would be appropriate to post it.

:FF7 Spoilers:
As many of us know, Aeris meets her end by Sephiroth's hands. So, this little ode to death and those left behind was triggered by this famous video game event. However, instead of putting it to "Aeris's Theme", I decided that it would be more uplifting if I put it to the "Prolouge Theme".

Death is a natural part of life. It's something we all must face, whether it's someone else's or our own. But when we leave this world, we will become one with the ones we love, forevermore.

Pretty poem... its so sad. It can be applied to a lot of stuff, tragic romantic deaths and stuff...
